Using an SD card in a BlackVue DashCam?
« on: November 10, 2020, 02:42:22 PM »
Anyone here with experience or info on the BlackVue Dash Cam in regards to using another SD Card in place of the BlackVue SD card which they charge crazy for?
Hence I'm trying to avoid buying the BlackVue Branded SD card, hoping I can use a sandisk or samsung or lexar Sd card.

I've done a bit of research it seems some say it will work, some say it's choppy, slow and buffers.

I came across this thread but there is a ton of info here, so now wondering if someone with experience can give me his take on how it records while using another branded SD card.

You can use any company, just format it when you install it.
Make sure it has a rating that would be suitable for video rewrite.

I don't remember the full details but I tried another brand awhile back (with all the specs so that it should work) and it kept on rebooting.

Bought a blackvue one and it works fine.

Maybe someone can figure out what is different with their cards?

Didn't bother reading till the very end, got to the 3rd to best and was like let's see what DDF has to say, sometimes first hand experience is better than a few year old Post.
