Pardon the random poll. Just trying to get a feel how prevalent it is on DDF.

Hebrew and English but not the number row. And it might be one of the reasons I dislike touch/on screen keyboards.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Nice! How did you learn to do it?

Nice! How did you learn to do it?

I used a booklet with Hebrew practice lessons on a typewriter when I was in Yeshiva. English just came naturally.

I recently hired an assistant and I needed him to be able to type Hebrew too. I can ask him what he used (something online), he seemed to have picked it up well quite fast.

I'm really interested in English. So far I've found typing.com but wondering if it's actually going to teach me something.

My line of work doesn't involve a ton of typing, but I'm looking to increase my accuracy.

Better than the Croatian QWERTZ (the Z and Y are swapped 🙃)

Annoying when you and a Croatian colleague both log onto a remote server using credentials that contain either a Y or a Z.

Do you have to have your left hand on ASDF and right hand on JKL; to touch type?

I can type blindly and reliably both on mobile and standard keyboard, but I dont do it the professional way. My speed once Im warmed up is nothing special, probably 50-60 WPM if I had to guess.

French AZERTY?

When I posted the question I thought it could be confusing to switch, but on second thought I guess it's a non issue when touch typing, just like different location for punctuation in Hebrew and English keyboard. It only becomes an issue when using hunt and peck typing, not while touch typing.

Interesting how many fingers do you use?

I cannot.
Primarily because I'm too fat for it, it's painful for me to hold my hands in position on a normal keyboard. (I recently got an ergonomic keyboard with the two halves angled outward, so that solves the main problem, but I haven't had much time since then to learn to type.)

The main thing is simply to place your fingers on the right keys and practice.
