IME with other banks (Chase, for example) regular ACH credits such as when I send money from my account to DW via ACH, or transfer from PayPal to bank account, help in qualifying for fee waiver as direct deposits. Does anyone have other experience with CapitalOne in regards for qualifying for this bonus?

there are widespread reports on other forums of promo not being added correctly without an external transfer even though its very clear that a transfe is NOT reqd at time of opening.

Is there any way to figure out a rhyme or reason to what works and what doesn't? Why would a transfer from Schwab work but not from USAA? In any event, I have enough ways to make ACH transfers, so I'm sure I can find something that works.

Just missed it. DoC had a 100/500/$1k with $10k/$50k/$100k deposited. It ended 12/15/22.

It’s possible there’ll be another one soon. Would be great if he had tracked the timeline for previous offers so we’d know how often they run, it’s possible you can piece it together from his topic history but I’m not sure it’s worth the effort.
