my brother got a phone call from a guy who said he wants to know if he has room for a shas, rambam, mishnayos, chumashim... tons, cuz hes on the way over - my bro was shaking from excitement - the guy showed up with one of the cd's that have all these seforim on it...!

if you really want to be remembered as the uncle who gave a gift then a sefer or cash is the wrong way to go
you should give him a gift that is so weird that he will never forget it like a yad
i still remember the person who gave me a challa cover for my bar mitzvah (cant use BM) or the cousins who gave me a crappy chess set

Got a silver B'somim holder.. (I probably have a list somewhere).

The Leather Siddur with my name stamped on it I use every day and I still love it. I also remember who gave it to me.

The binding inside cracked in a few places and I did a tape-job on it. I have even gone as far as looking for the same exact Siddur so that I have a replacement the day this one 'runs out'.
