How do you preserve your puzzle?

Slip an oaktag underneath the puzzle (typically we make the puzzles on a white oaktag so it's easier to spot shape and coloring of missing pieces). Put an oaktag on top of the finished puzzle and then flip the puzzle on it's "back". Tape the back with rows of clear boxing tape.
Store it between your mattress and the bedframe until your bed becomes lopsided and your pushed to search for (or custom make) non standard sized frames.

I know it doesn't quite answer your question, but as I explained to my kids, putting together a puzzle is all about the journey, not about the destination. I've never seen a completed puzzle hanging on a wall that looked nice. My two cents...

Smear glue
Give it in to laminate
self-adhesive laminating tape
Dump it and assemble the next one

What's the average cost and how is the quality?

Thats not clear. As I said, I havent seen hung, clearly not referring to my place. However, it happens to be true, I don't spend a considerable amount of time seeking out puzzles. That's irrelevant.

But what is clear is that you and I have different tastes. Al taam varayach... My point was only that people get so caught up in feeling the need to preserve the hard work and time investment. Maybe take a step back, admire your handiwork then break it up. Similar to Lego.
