Looking for thread to post or advice on the following; Would like to go IYH to australia in sept. Need 5 tickets. Last time i used mileage but don't have miles. Is there any way to accumulate enough mileage (not buying it, unless cheap) by opening cards (and receiving the mileage right away) or using my current cards? If yes, please some guidance?

I would say signup for some Amex cards Biz and Personal if you never had any, some nice bonces out there, you can buy an offer on the forums, Besides if you have, its 150K for Biz plat and 75k BRG and you could also find 100k personal plat and 50k PRG. So do the calculations and you should have a nice amount of MR.

If I recall correctly. I had opened in the past a gold and platinum.

If you return an item and have it credited to a card other than the card it was bought on, is that considered a payment or would it deduct from the points from purchases made on that card? I hope I am being clear.

Iirc, it counts as a payment. Dont remember where, but was some discussion of using this to keep borrowing from cc company.
