Something Fishy (I think it was him) once had in a post a formula that says by how much the resolution of a picture can be multiplied to find out the biggest size of blowing up the pic and it'll retain its clarity. I can't seem to find it. Anyone?

Good try, but no. IIRC it was part of a post which was not really focused on that topic specifically. It came in somewhere in the middle of a conversation.

ETA: Like in Google images, when you hover the mouse over a picture it displays numbers. That post had a formula how to use those numbers to determine the largest size that picture can be blown up with full clarity.
