Hi everyone,
I am brand new to dansdeals and i am very overwhelmed with all the info available. It is truly incredible the support everyone has on here.
I have a bunch credit cards I have open that have been open a long time that aren't being used and I don't know which to close and which to keep open. I have clicked on a bunch of links to different forums but I am a extremely lost and I apologize for repeat posting the same thing that I am sure has been posted a ton of times. I currently have:
Chase Slate
Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa Platinum Plus
BankAmericard Better Balance Rewards Platinum Plus Mastercard
Amex EveryDay Card
Citi Simplicity Card
Banana Republic Visa Card
ASHLEY FURNITURE HOMESTORES / SYNCHRONY BANK
Can someone please help me choose which to close and explain how it will affect my credit score? I really appreciate any and all help I can get.
Thanks so much,
Isaac
Welcome to DDF!
The correct place to ask that, probably should have been
hereIf you would like to close cards,
A. Go through them and see which have value to you, for example the Chase Slate, and Citi Simplicity probably have no value to you at this point.
B. Transfer the credit line to another card (you don't have that option for most of your cards) so you will have the same amount of credit reporting, and your credit should barely be effected. And if you have too much credit (doesn't seem you do) without these cards, it won't even be a problem to close them without transferring the CL.
Although unless you have too many open cards, or the cards have an annual fee that can't be waived without closing the card, I don't see a reason to close them.
