As I understand it, there are three levels of pots. Cheap ones that are often on sale on DDMS, often from Macy's (like T-fal, Cuisinart), Mid-range sturdy long-lasting pots that rarely go on sale (like Farberware), and top-of-the-line expensive pots, which may go on sale, but usually not as a set (like Le Creuset).

Cheap ones could often go for $40-70 for a set on sale, Faberware could be $30-80 per pot, and the expensive ones could be a few hundred dollar for each piece.

Please specify which range you are looking to get.

I would assume ones that go on sale?

I got two sets before Pesach (from Macy's via DDMS). Lasted me through my Pesach prep, but I'll have to replace some of them next time I make Pesach...

Most brands have high end products, mid-level products, and cheap products. Don't buy something just because it's branded as All-Clad.

Many chefs or people who do a lot of cooking don't recommend buying full sets. They prefer to buy individual pieces, picking the best piece for each category, depending on their personal needs. I've found that by doing that, your cookware ends up costing more overall, but you spend less money in the long run. First, because you're buying high quality items which last longer. Second, because you can replace individual pieces as needed, without needing to buy a whole set to match. Third, because you're only buying the pots and pans you need, without getting saddled with those pieces which just collect dust in the cabinet.

FWIW the tools of the trade stockpot from macys ($8 after rebate) feels like junk. Very thin and looks like it got a dent in transit.

Can't complain for the price though..
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.
