I'm kinda surprised to see no mention of the session on tuition.
I saw a 4 minute clip of Mr. Orzel doing a back of the envelope of a family of 5-6 kids, making $300,000, and basically he goes through the basics - taxes, housing, food, cars clothing, camp etc. and after all that, there's barely anything left for tuition.
I had a scary thought.
In my school, tuition for 5 kids would be $70,000 all in with fees, registration and all. A guy in that situation would probably pay between $40,000 and $50,000 - a break of $20,000 to $30,000.
Imagine for a second that tuition credits become a real thing. Unless they are materially higher than $5,000 per kid (and no income caps etc....) this guy making $300,000 won't benefit one iota!!
Because even if we assume that schools won't pump the number, they will at least keep it flat and first pull back on tuitin breaks.
Am I wrong or do we need to pull back on this promise of salvationoif only we'd get govt tuition vouchers? (Not to say we shouldn't be advocating for them).
