https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/2154876/agudath-israel-helps-stop-permanent-daylight-saving-bill-exceedingly-disruptive-to-orthodox-jewish-life.html

Is this documented that aguda advocacy actually played a role in pushing this legislation off?

Did something happen now that prompted posting? I thought the house declined to take this up in the summer.

I am skeptical that most people are up before 8 on shabbos when so many daven at minyanim starting 830 or later.
Could only speak for myself. In any case, I would definitely push for the bill going this way than the other way.

I assumed that they put it out now because now there is a new congress and the bill officially died. Until now, it would be premature to publish anything because any public support for the bill could've prompted the House to take up the bill. Now, it would have to go through Senate again, because the new session officially kills it, so they can post about it.

Who do you think is watching the kids while EC sleeps in?

Fractional time zones are a mind warp, it’s enough we have Fahrenheit and imperial measurements to deal with.

My guess is that most countries that have DST would follow our lead.

Maybe we’d finally align with India.

Most people I know dislike DST, yet we still go through this annual (senseless IMHO) ritual, which had been made worse during the Bush administration, making it even longer.

What do DDFers think.

I agree. They're making us go through DST annually because people are resistant to change, especially in terms of bureaucracy. It's proven that it doesn't benefit anyone, and the cost in money and health is significant.
