Masks and flying with toddlers
« on: November 29, 2020, 09:40:42 PM »
Hi All,
I'm planning my first family flight since covid started. I have a toddler who will be just over two when we fly. All of the airlines that have the flights that we need mandate masks for over twos, I can't see my 2 year old wearing a mask for 5 hours. would anyone mind sharing their experiences flying with toddlers? are the airlines strict with masks for toddlers? any tips?
Thank you!

Wrong board, but one idea is to use a scarf-like covering. It’s cold now and hopefully you can convince them to wear it over their mouth and nose most of the time. IME at your seat it shouldn’t be too much of an issue if they pull it down. Also, they might be lenient if he/she just turned 2.

I flew AC with my son who had just turned 2 a month before the flight, and they did not ask him to wear a mask.

Good thing because, as DDMS commenter Aaron said, "I have I hard enough time getting my 2 year old to keep his pants on!"
