Author Topic: Here's a weird one... An email conf. a purchase of an iPhone.. (Read 3453 times)

This morning I get this email:

My first thought was it's another spam/spoof/phishing/call it what you want email that is hoping I would click on it and give away all my info. Usually I can tell instantly because I hover over the links and see that it goes to some indianigeriawhatever.com but this time it all links looked legit, everything went to apple. I scroll down further and see my address is listed as the billing address!

This is my email and address but not my name.

I go to apple.com and click on order lookup with the order number and my email and sure enough I see the same thing. Creepy. I check all my cards and don't see any purchases from apple so I chat with them and she askes me if I see any charges and I said nope. She says she'll pass this on to the order review team.

Then I get this email:

And just now I got this one:

I don't have a card that ends in 3983

Anyone have any idea what's going on?? If I was near Manhattan I would go into the store but I'm not.

Maybe someone added an AU (virtual?)
See if you can figure out the BIN# (First 5 digits of cc)

Why not just cancel the order?

That's what I thought also, but I would still see the pending charge then?

Worth noting that the buyer's name does not seem to be random, it's an influencer/writer. If I had to guess her card was stolen and they used her name with your email address and address. They probably used your email in guest checkout which is why you wouldn't see it on your account.

I don't see where it shows my customer number. It doesn't show it here: https://secure4.store.apple.com/shop/account/home

Also, the plot thickens, I went through the process of ordering this exact one and it shows as unavailable for pickup at any store near the zip
