Hyatt Elite Status: Use Office for a Day to rack up Elite Nights

"Standard World of Hyatt in-hotel benefits including earning points and having Office for the Day stays count toward elite-tier status"

However, per hyatt rep: " The day rate is not eligible to count as a night stayed credit, however, you would earn points for the spending. Day rates would not be eligible to be booked with points but they are discounted rates. In most cases, the lower rate may actually outweigh the advantage of using points."

That seems to directly contradict what's written in the terms and conditions on their site.
"World of Hyatt members are eligible to earn World of Hyatt points, Bonus Journeys Bonus Points and Tier-Qualifying Night credits for these packages. Member must actually check-in, occupy the room and complete the stay for his or her Work from Hyatt reservation to earn points and Tier-Qualifying Nights. To redeem World of Hyatt points for these packages, members must call 1-866-886-5053. "

So it seems you do earn nights and you can book these with points.

I called up Hyatt and a local hotel to inquire about this and they don't seem to have any more details than what's available online.  I'm not able to "Office for the day" rate if booking a range of days.
