The CDC does technically recommend the 10+14, though not explicitly. They expect the infected individual to be kept separate from even household members - which is of course often not practical. If you don't do that, then the family member's quarantine clock starts from their last exposure, which is considered the end of the infected person's quarantine. That's the 10+14.

I mean, if it gets here quicker than the other vaccines and they have the ability to administer it right away, it's not a bad thing. Anything that disrupts the 3rd wave is a win. I'm just not sure it'll get here that quick. The order is only being placed today.

Exactly. We first need to get the first 100m, at that point we probably won't need any more doses unless they are delivered before Pfizer and Moderna deliver their 200m doses each.

There's also the possibility that the results of the J&J 2 dose trial show it to be more effective and they'll be recommending everyone get a second dose.

I'm less concerned about this. I've been on record advocating to skip the second dose in order to get as many people protected as possible (even partially) as quickly as possible.
