Fake news, even seniors and teachers are having a hard time
Anyone who is flexible, tries hard and has connections.
How's that?

👍

If one is flexible and tries hard, anyone can make the connections ;)

How hard are they trying? Are they constantly calling each vaccination center and ready to run for an expiring dose at the drop of a dime? If the answers to those questions are no, they’re not trying hard enough.

If that’s all it takes, where do connections fit in at all?

Most people I know that have gotten it ahead of their turn, was because they had a connections to nursing homes with extra doses

See the post I quoted, calling vaccination centers all day doesn’t mean having connections at a nursing home.

I hear. Is this working for many people, or was this a one off? Because, like I said, I have heard of many people getting from nursing homes, but s209 is the first I've heard getting from a regular vaccination center. I know in hospitals, they offer to patients if there are extras. I'm not sure they would give to anyone who calls in.

I don’t know that it’s working for anyone at all, @S209 didn’t sound very certain either tbh

My intuition tells me this is something I am supposed to read between the lines.

I actively searched for availability and made sure to be there when a close connection at CHEMED informed me there were expiring doses available at the end of the day.

I was actually at the site and prepped for the vaccine last week but they refused to inject me as I was within 14 days of the flu shot.

I think anyone who tries hard enough and is flexible at this point can get the vaccine, at least in Lakewood and Brooklyn. All of my relatives who tried hard enough have been vaccinated with at least one dose.

There are many people getting from CHEMED

Will they give it to non-NJ residents?

That’s a great question and I think the answer is yes but I’m not positive of that. For sure the extra expiring doses, as they are given without any eligibility requirements and I’m aware of at least 2 people who received both doses at CHEMED from Brooklyn.

Then again, I don’t know if they would take someone from your “location” ;)

There is talk of removing federal level limitations on vaccines in alternative states

You may need to put an NJ address on the registration form, but otherwise, you should be able to (I won't get into whether it's proper to do or not). There was an article last week how Ocean County is requiring everyone to provide Ocean County ID to get the vaccine, but Chemed hasn't done that (at least yet).

I submitted the form for NJ a month ago - however, I was just looking again, and in error I submitted the wrong answer for one of the questions which will drastically change when I get the vaccine. I submitted a ticket, but all you get is a general response saying that you can only update info when you get the vaccine, which doesn't help me. It does say that if you submitted the wrong email address, you can submit another form, but I'm not sure if that's correct or what I should be doing here. I tried calling the hotline but it gives me the same info about not changing information after submitting. Has anyone else run into this issue? Suggestions?

What does it hurt to submit a new form now?
