Is there a way to find out if this is Pfizer or moderna?
Which do you prefer, and why?

Pfizer has a larger track record (Moderna has none at all...), though I’m not sure that’s a reason to trust them more :P

But seriously, if I had to guess, Pfizer will produce boosters for variants quicker than Moderna, if that ever becomes a thing. Maybe people prefer Pfizer because they think it might have higher efficacy, or that you get the 2nd dose a week sooner.

Medgar Evers college vaccination site open with 3k daily. Appointments available to eligible recipients in zip codes 11207, 11212, 11208, 11206, 11233, 11213, 11221, 11226, 11236, 11216, 11225, 11210, 11203, 11238

Make sure your first or second dose don’t come out on Shabbos or YomTov.

There’s also a Queens location at York College, probably also limited zip codes.

Big whoop, the first 3 days ran out before Shabbos was over, with appointments still available for the next 2 weeks+ after that. What a non-starter from Lightstone

Amazing how they managed to exclude most Jewish zip codes

I wish they had a transparent method for how these were determined. Similar zip code restrictions exist at other vaccination centers, and if the policy was published then people could comment on it.

I think it’s the ridiculous agenda to bring “equality” to vaccine distribution. It isn’t working, look at the NYS statistics on vaccination amongst Hispanics. Also, what happened to “science”?

Firstly, I was posting for the senator's use of מ"ש. Secondly, after a year of botched (to put it mildly) communication and outreach to the frum communities of NY, it's definitely worth raising that we clearly aren't part of the vaccination drive. Even if plenty of appointments remained available for us, that's by chance, not by design

It’s the intention that counts, not the results. Or something like that.
Also, what happened to “science”?
Science can be very racist at times.

Iceland only acccepts non-eu Pfizer (nor moderna). at least last I checked.

What happens if I can’t get the second dose 21 days later? Does it invalidate the whole tbing? I will be away for a few weeks

Slow down. What does @ non-eu Pfizer (nor Moderna)” mean?

Also, what do you mean by “invalidate the whole thing”?

ETA: If you don’t have European vaccination confirmation, you can see about getting WHO yellow card for your Pfizer vaccine. Not sure how you go about doing that when getting the vaccine in the USA.

Stating the obvious: מ״ש was written by a Frum underling.

As for the intended design, that’s on Cuomo and DeBlasio, and as you can see from the response the non-Jewish state and city representatives of Jewish constituencies aren’t paying attention either.

So I agree with you it’s an issue, I just wasn’t sure why it’s relevant here.

Quote from the Icelandic government website:

Certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 accepted at the border

Requirement for testing and quarantine after travel:
Current rules require all travellers arriving in Iceland from risk areas for COVID-19 to undergo testing for COVID-19 at the border. Currently, all countries and territories are defined as risk areas. All arriving travellers need to pre-register at covid.is Opnast í nýjum glugga. From 12 January 2021 children born 2005 and later need to quarantine with their parent/guardian but are exempt from screening. Children born 2005 and later travelling alone, or if parent/guardian has an exemption, need to undergo testing after 5 days of quarantine after arrival. See details at covid.is Opnast í nýjum glugga.

Certificates accepted at the border for exemption of testing:

Confirmation of previous COVID-19 infection:
See requirements here Opnast í nýjum glugga.
Certificates of vaccination against COVID-19 if they fulfil the requirements set forth by the Chief Epidemiologist. These requirements are stated later in this document.

Certificates of vaccination from the EEA/EFTA-area with a vaccine authorized by the European Medicines Agency, that are listed here (this list is updated as needed):
1. Comirnaty; Pfizer-BioNTech
2. COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna
3. COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca

Certificates from the the World Health Organization (WHO) (the International Certificate of Vaccination or the Carte Jaune/Yellow Card) is also accepted for vaccines the WHO has validated. The following is a list of vaccines validated by the WHO (this list is updated as needed):
1. Comirnaty; Pfizer/BioNTech: certificate valid regardless of where vaccination took place.

Meaning if I take the first dose and I’m only able to take the second dose let’s say 45 days later. What happens? Can I do that? Or will they make me take the first dose again?

I found this myself, see my edit above accordingly.

Amazing how they managed to exclude most Jewish zip codes

The Medgar Evers site will be available to all eligible Brooklyn residents (any zip code) and the York site to all eligible Queens residents starting next week (possibly again on Shabbos at 8am).

You still have to be eligible by age, occupation, or comorbidities.

Will they give it to non-NJ residents?
I know a few people from Brooklyn and Monsey who got at CHEMED. When they asked for address they just put the address of a relative from NJ. I’m not vouching for the ethics, just relaying.
