NYT now reporting that FDA will approve Pfizer vaccine for ages 12-16 by early next week - wow! This can make a huge difference for sleepaway camps this summer, as well as for Israel that is expected to follow the FDA's lead.

Where does the CDC come in? Isn't the FDA the one that approves all medicine in the US?

My understanding is the FDA say medicine is Kosher (safe), but the CDC says it's tasty (recommended).

The reason we need the CDC is because by and large it's the government vaccinating, so they need two know it's the appropriate course of action and being safe and effective is insufficient.

In any case CDC is just a formality/rubber-stamp.

I have 2 Pfizer from Israel and considering getting a 3rd Moderna in NYC soon. Wondering what the best way to document it would be, Israel is considering requiring a 3rd shot for the green pass and I think many countries will eventually do so.

Worst case I’ll just take a 4th shot, it’s less dangerous than having dinner
