take an ungers donut on a flight from cle to ewr and let’s see how good they are then..
Froze some and flew them to DEN for @CheskyGold  @Something Fishy @whYME and @aussiebochur on the RV trip, can ask them how they were :)

Let's just say it was good we were in an RV, or I would just have stayed in the side of the road in a food coma.

I don't wanna give any ideas for @Something Fishy, but if he just buys hundreds of ungers donuts for his trips, he can easily save himself a lot of money on steaks and other suppers.

That being said, all in all, it doesn't compare to Ungers donuts at all. Ungers dough is so much better and their custard, cinnamon, and apple fritter can't be beat. Plus they are $1-$2 instead of $5.50 per donut!
I'd add to that list almost everything from the bakery! Especially they're Russian tea biscuit, as well as the Miami!
Boy do I miss all those!

The Miamis are also great, though they're more of a love them or hate them donut.

So these are certainly pretty and some of the flavors are great.

they are great, but no sesame. round and round.....

The cronuts from Brooklyn Artisanal Bakeshop (Crown Heights location) were out of this world this year (they seem to differ quite a bit each year). IMHO they were better than Gombo's dairy doughnuts.

Queens Pita on Main Street in KGH has the best I've ever tasted. Went on Friday morning at 815 AM and they had people lined up 20 deep to pay (line snaked around the store).

All donuts are sold in boxes of 4 for $8. The nutella flavor is the best by far. They also do halva, pistachio, chocolate, jelly, custard, cream and caramel.

Tried the Queens Pita ones this year and they were alright, but I don't see the craze. My sister was singing their praise and telling about the lines and I expected more than what I got.

Koshertown Cafe also had some delicious classic (non frosted/glazed/filled) doughnuts.

But have you tried

Mildew filled?

Are those baked on site or do they get from a bakery?

Baked on site, and taste that way.

It's technically not on site, they bake them down the block (Cafe Rimon used to be) and bring them to the cafe at the back of Koshertown.

Which flavor did you have and did you have them the same day they were baked? Once you get beyond 48 hrs they are OK, but the texture is not as good.

Had them 3 hours after they were picked up from the store. I tried the chocolate, the halva, and the caramel. IG its a matter of taste.

On a similar note: the line at Cinnabon at American dream yesterday was ridiculous . They are the most delicious danishes hands down. They were constantly making more on the spot and they keep them warm in chaffing dishes so they’re always warm and amazing.
After finishing that and davening mincha I then headed over to the Chickies kiosk ;)
A good day was had by all  ;D
