Let him install them at every gas station.. can you imagine, 10 years from now when EV's take over most of the market, he'll have his foot print at every US gas station... No matter what other companies do, the name Tesla would synonyms with EV's
That takes time. Tesla still has the largest fast charger network, and I don't think anyone is close behind.
Additionally, any underutilized charger is very expensive to operate. A charging station used 24/7 has an electric bill that's around double a station used once a month. For this reason charging stations need to be installed at roughly the same rate as EV adoption.
ETA: They'll likely be outdated in a few years. The original Superchargers were 150kW split between 2 ports, while the current version are 250kW each. In the near future they'll be up to 300 or 350kW. At this time it doesn't make much of a difference because of the charge curve, but battery and charging technology will continue to improve allowing it to take advantage of the high speed for longer.
