Why can't they make adapters so that any EV can charge at Tesla charging locations?
Maybe someone can convince Elon that by doing so his brand will live on forever (kinda like ordering a Lyft is still being called ordering an uber by most people)

He is very convinced, but doesn't want to do it at the expense of increased wait times for Tesla owners.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Let him install them at every gas station.. can you imagine, 10 years from now when EV's take over most of the market, he'll have his foot print at every US gas station... No matter what other companies do, the name Tesla would synonyms with EV's

That takes time. Tesla still has the largest fast charger network, and I don't think anyone is close behind.

Additionally, any underutilized charger is very expensive to operate. A charging station used 24/7 has an electric bill that's around double a station used once a month. For this reason charging stations need to be installed at roughly the same rate as EV adoption.

ETA: They'll likely be outdated in a few years. The original Superchargers were 150kW split between 2 ports, while the current version are 250kW each. In the near future they'll be up to 300 or 350kW. At this time it doesn't make much of a difference because of the charge curve, but battery and charging technology will continue to improve allowing it to take advantage of the high speed for longer.

You don't want to exchange for any GM car with the same MSRP?

Non-Tesla EV Electric Vehicles Master Thread

Planning to possibly drive from FL to NY in a non Tesla EV The first week of July.
Was originally planning on the 6-7 but now thinking to leave on the 3rd so I have a spare day and don't have to take off an extra day of work.

Going to use a better route planner for the route.

Any must haves to get prior to the trip?
Will go in an EV6.

Staying overnight at a hotel with destination chargers will save you 1-2 charging stops per day.

A TR after the trip is a must, here's what I want to know.

How robust or sparse is the charging infrastructure?
If and at what point in the trip did you feel an EV is a burden vs ICE?
How close did you get to 0 miles of range?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Thought they went bust.

Then what? The cars all break immediately? Either way, they haven’t gone bust yet.

I was referring to before they started mass producing them.
