Non-Tesla EV Electric Vehicles Master Thread
« Reply #80 on: July 18, 2022, 10:27:26 PM »
For the one that asked if I regret now having an ICE car.

Just completed round trip Mia-NY-Mia with stops over two plus weeks.

The way back to Mia we planned to stay the night in Florence SC. Three hours prior in NC somewhere my son wasn't feeling well and we had to go to an urgent care. We went during a planned stop, however it ended up taking close to 4 hours. I was upset and wanted to get to the hotel as fast as possible, we charged there to about 85%.
If we were in an ICE car, I probably would have been going at least 90, due to being upset at the delay and to get there as fast as possible. If I were to go 90 in the EV we would not have made it on the one charge. So I had to cruise on 75 to make it without stopping.
Maybe this is a benefit idk.

Somewhat related: Why do people drive fast in the first place?

-It's thrilling
-Late/timing
-Dislike driving and just want to get to destination

For the 3rd reason, I suspect that as a car becomes more enjoyable to drive, we would see fewer people speeding. For myself, I started asking why autopilot at 75-80mph isn't enough? I'm not late, and I don't care for the thrill. I frankly don't want to be involved in driving at all. If autopilot is so easy, why rush?

If you're in a limo, would you care if the driver is cruising at 75mph? Hopefully the personal driving experience will be just as enjoyable one day.

My potential reasons in my post were: Upset, tired, and wanting to get there quicker.

How much charge did you arrive with?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

How much charge did you arrive with?
17%

My lowest state of charge ever on the trip was 8%, on home arrival last night (I do not have a home charger, live in a condo).

ABRP was set to always arrive at destination with 15%, sometimes however I only charged to 80-83 instead of the ABRP suggestion of 90-95.

Would one get the remainder of the $7,500 tax credit I he doesn't pay that much in taxes? Is this credit stackable with NJ state incentive? Is the Chevy EUV eligible?

Isn't that program dead?
From what i understand, the current program for the chevy EUV is $6,300.00 instant rebate from chevy & $4,000.00 instant rebate from the state of NJ. This will bring the base price down to about 25K. Better hurry if you want one as they are very hard to get in the lakewood area. I myself just picked one up from Lester Glenn Chevy 2.5 weeks ago.
Just a tip regarding the free charger install that chevy is giving, take the EVGO credits. I chose the install option at the time of purchase & got ridiculous quotes that would have me shelling out between an additional 500-1000 for the work. I ended up doing it myself & was about 250-300 in material & 45 minutes install time.
You can PM me if you want installation tips or any questions regarding Lester Glenn.

the current MSRP for the least optioned is 33,500 if you can find one. The $6,300.00 & $4,000.00 come off the MSRP of that specific car. it just makes the price match the 23 model as NJ isn't giving 4K on the 23 model year.
so let's say the one i got was 35,300, after rebates i paid 25,000

they add some sort of addendum which bumps up the price a bit. the short answer is that he gave it to me for MSRP + the addendum cost. it didn't bother me as i needed the car ASAP & can't wait 8-10 weeks that other dealers were telling me.
