Chase United Explorer used to Pay for Upgrade -Free Checked Luggage?

Does anyone know if I booked a ticket with Chase Ultimate Rewards points, and then upgrade to Economy Plus using Chase United Explorer credit card, will I receive a free checked bag?

This is my exact question. Bought a ticket with a different card. Just received the United card and would love to here if there is a way to pay partially with this card etc in order to get a free bag..
