Right but then it's locked. That's what I did (and it works great), but now I have a relative who wants to continue using their existing service with the LG Classic. Is the kosher version unlocked to any network?

Is it possible to activate Band 3 LTE so the phone can be used on 4g LTE networks in Israel?
I dont know how much market demand you have seen for this, but is guaranteed get you tens of thousands of happy customers (kids studying here for a couple years, young american couples and visitors)

The Qualcomm 210 supports Band 3 and it the primary for voice + data on Hot Mobile and Golan, the main providers servicing Americans.

The phone does allow Band 3 to work but the only real way is to test it.

I will not. Max $100-125 for the Kyocera Cadence is what people do if they really want a phone.
