Did they signup to support the insurrection on Jan 6?
Did they signup to deny the results of the election?

Can't people be individuals? If somoene wants to make a group with a set of rules and idiologies, let them. But if they are just regular citizens with their own beliefs, why does the opposition party need to make up terms and throw people under those terms?

Right, but "many Republicans" aren't "every single Republican" (aygart's term).

I see it as davka trying to NOT smear all Republicans.  It's an attempt to discredit just an extreme segment of the current Republican party.

I'm sure that there's a certain percentage of Trump-followers whose rhetoric and behavior you would characterize as extreme and not representative, eg, "Hang Mike Pence", Charlottesville, Dominion, "Trump is the duly elected prez" etc.  What term would you prefer be used to refer to these people?

That would be the most racist and bigoted thing to do and would be ripped front page of every newspaper and news channel in America.

You don't take a campaign slogan and throw the worst of those people all together under it.

It is divisive and wrong on so many levels.

when people are shot in the streets by their neighbors and sections of cities are burnt down or occupied by domestic terrorists while other terrorist want to kill the VP....not exactly what I'd call great.

a resounding no.
 I've never beat my wife in my life and can say I never will lift a hand to wife or child unless I have a serious personality change/ disorder
Though I have many other flaws.
