This thread is making me really curious to know what some DDFer's twitter handles are!

ETA: or more accurately, were!

My account was private and had 0 followers! so no luck with that.
Hoping Parlor will be as good for news in the future.

For those who've deactivated, I'm wondering why?  To show your anger at Twitter?  To make Trump feel he's not alone? Because with Trump gone, there's nobody you want to follow?

Just curious.

It's an emotional move, not something that's calculated for a superior outcome. Similar thought process to those who think BLM is bad, so instead of thinking what would solve the problem, jump the other direction into Trump. It's like hitting somebody you're angry at instead of attempting to rectify the situation.

Right, so what interests me is how those who deactivated explain it themselves.  Like @yesitsme and others who seem to have changed their view of Twitter after it dumped Trump.

Changed how?  And how does that translate into the action to not use it any more?  I had assumed people open Twitter accounts because they either want to hear from many other people, or want a large audience to hear what they have to say.  Why would Trump's leaving change that?  Was he the only one people wanted to hear from?

You make as if the idea of boycotting a company or service is brand new

No he isn't. Saying it isn't the first time someone did something doesn't say there isn't a reason and does nothing to explain why people do it. The question is the same whether it's about twitter or boycotts in general.

Remarkable that thus far nobody can actually explain themselves.

Then we are understanding him differently. The question doesn't apply to me since i am nut really a Twitter user, but i presumed it was a boycott like any other.

Boycotts entail refusing to do business with someone, punishing them financially.  But that doesn't apply to Twitter.  Or boycotts might pressure a company to change their policy, but it's not clear why Twitter would respond to the loss of a few tweeters.
Realizing the power of the big tech.?!
So you're okay with tweeting, just think it should be with a smaller company?
"Why would Trump's leaving change that?"
So your deactivation isn't driven by the loss of Trump's tweets themselves, but by the way in which he was forced into non-Twitterdom?
