United flight went down in price - any way to recoup difference
« on: January 12, 2021, 03:49:40 PM »
I have a flight booked TLV-EWR on United via Ultimate Rewards in J, booked in November. Price currently is down around $260
Is there any way to recoup the funds? Cancel the flight for credit and rebook and retain the $260 credit?
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Request an ETC via Twitter DM and rebook.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Call or SMS.
Just note it does take a few days for them to send the ETC so you won’t be able to rebook immediately.

At least 60% of the time I get the ETC right away via Twitter DM. Otherwise, takes a few days.

Hmm...Is the risk worth it for $260 ETC?

You can hold the fare for a day or 2 at a time on UA.com

i booked on amextravel.com and now with the lower rates i want to book the whole family with a date change (also on amex for the 5%) is there a way to do that using what i paid for the first flight as credit towards the 2nd flight?
from amextravel it seems that if i cancel they give me a credit that can be used only on united.com
