I’m comparing to ad-hoc/one-off vaccination sites across NYC where service is inconsistent and lines are long.

Everything about these 12-15 NY state-run vaccination sites are about volume and efficiency. Sites that are designed to process 3-6k first doses every day are either going to be efficient or a pandemonium.
Either way, the fact that the Federal government is providing muscle for vaccination drive is welcome news

The best thing here is that it’ll be manned by active duty military, hoping that means it’ll be super efficient.

Speaking only of the Medgar Evans site, it was super-efficient. My rough estimation was processing 150 or so per 15 minutes.

Yup, my dad says he was in and out in 20m including 15m for observation. 150/15m sounds high considering they booked ~63 appointments per 15m slot.

In other news, JNJ vaccine is headed to NYC and will be used for overnight vaccination appointments at the Javits center and other vaccination sites.

Could be I was there at a particularly busy time, the line went way out of the tents and onto the street, but it moved very fast. They didn't have enough seats in the observation area, which I'm guessing had about 150 seats, but I could also be way overstating that too  ;D

Fools. The federally run facilities seem to be doing much better.

Is anyone else having this problem: On the vaccinepod website, the dropdown menus for Hispanic etc. are not working, or is it just my computer?

as in these:

it doesn't drop down and I can't submit without selecting.

I guess I'll have to borrow someone's smartphone. It's not working on my computer on Chrome or on Edge.

Any locations in Long Island area able to get vaccine extras at end of the day?
I’ve waited long enough and only hear of the official way from the media who’s in line for vaccine.
However I predicted there was some unofficial route to getting it I.e extras or cancellations. Where is best to call to see if there’s extras?
nothings impossible- the word itself says Im possible

Maybe it’s your filter (for reasons I don’t understand)?

Had I known this last week, I'd have waited and tried to see if it's easier to get Pfizer with this. Most pharmacies probably have Moderna though.

Any reason to wait for Pfizer or Medora?

Pfizer or Moderna are more effective and are likelier to bring variant booster shots to the market sooner if that becomes a necessity.

Valid point

I personally still have very high antibodies (400) a year after coved, so was thinking more about travel/mask restrictions?
