I don't know what you mean by 'runaway' but the kids are crossing the border unaccompanied. The parents are well aware the government will treat unaccompanied kids better. What should the government do?

They are working on improving the conditions and it looks like they aren't doing a good enough job, but it's a far cry for deliberately separating families where in many cases the parents can't even be found.

The unbiased MSM coverage of Biden tripping 3 times on a flight of stairs vs. last year’s coverage of Trump stumbling on a ramp is illuminating.

Inside Edition cited other historic examples of people falling down stairs, complete with a stuntman to explain how it could have occurred and why it’s normal. When Trump stumbled, their most likely explanation was an aneurysm.

When I first saw the chairlift meme, I thought that if this would’ve happened to Trump, Jim Acosta would’ve asked in all seriousness, if the White House is planning to install a chairlift, and everyone would think it’s a legitimate question.
