Israeli police broke up a Tu Beshvat Tish with thousands of people at Belz Jerusalem (they dispersed when a massive police force formed).

They didn't break up anything. They arrived after Maariv after the tish as people were going home. By the time they actually entered it was already after people going home as well. Israeli police are as corrupt as anything. You can bet that it was intentional.

Meh, there are plenty of timestamped videos going around of people arriving at the Tish 2-3 hours the videos of cops arriving and everybody else leaving. The cops won this match. Sadly the Israeli police is too corrupt to prosecute anybody & deter it from happening again.

Not at all its just funny to see that on one side there is a rav that says and does something, and on the other side there is some anonymous internet poster and he does not like what the rav says and does so he knows better and he jknows for sure hashem is not happy of that rav. That rav does not know what hashem wants only this poster that sits a whole day on the internet he knows. Seems very funny to me

As I see it, the Belzer 'hashkafa' is to continue life 100% as if Covid doesn't exist.

Every year the Belz Tu Beshvat Tish has thousands upon thousands of people and goes on late into the night (6-7 hours?).

It's ironic to see those defending this behavior as somehow commanded by the Torah trying to pretend the Tish went on as usual and revealing how it's really just about

by trying to insist Belz didn't lose in their attempt to muscle flex against the other 99% of the country. This Tish was clearly nothing like yesteryear, despite the Belzers wanting it to be so and still pretending it was so.
