Cordless Headset

I would like to have a wireless headset to use with my current panasonic cordless phones. i know that vtech makes a cordless phone with that feature but reviews aren't that great.
i was thinking of a potential solution to use a 2.5mm bluetooth  adapter to plug into the handset and then use with a regular BT headset. would that work?
any ideas (that wont cost a fortune) are appreciated.

It might work to get any cheap Bluetooth receiver together with a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter. I have a feeling it won't work because of the mono to stereo / mic problem.
