Delta clearance to fly process
« on: February 04, 2021, 10:44:47 AM »
Please do not turn this into a debate wether to wear mask or not. This is in the “up in the air” section for a reason.

Now that there’s a federal regulation that kids 2 years old and up have to wear a mask, I was wondering if anyone has experience with the delta clearance to fly process? How complicated is it?

Also, is it a one time thing to get a waiver or you would have to get it every time you fly?

Thank you.

Not trying to turn this into a debate, but what are the grounds for the waiver?

Up in the air usually means it's up for debate ;)

If you get a doctor's note (which prob won't be too difficult)

From Delta.com

Mask Exception Process
Delta is committed to requiring all customers and employees to wear a face covering as a consistent layer of protection across all Delta touchpoints. As of July 20, any customer who believes they have an underlying condition that prevents them from wearing a mask is required to complete a "Clearance-to-Fly" process  before being permitted to travel, for everyone's safety. The virtual consultation process:

Could take up to an hour, so customers needing a rare exemption should plan to arrive at the airport early
* Will be facilitated by a Delta agent with a third-party medical professional
* Will be required for each individual trip

So a Doctor's note will have a value of close to Zero and only the Delta Doctor's opinion will be the deciding factor..
