Doing business with Satmar types and you learn that spelling correctly makes no difference. Your experience won't be better and the proprietor wouldn't necessarily be a better businessman if he knew how to spell.

I know a very big real estate guy who literally hands over his cell phone to his lawyer to type him up text messages. (When there is a need for understandable English)

The younger generation are ok.. they do walkie talkie WhatsApp.

I once visited a certain Jewish business and i overheard the boss who is a chasdishe boro park guy speaking to his mexican employees in yiddish so i asked him how come they speak yiddish so the guy told me that when I hired them the only language they spoke was Spanish and my 1st language is yiddish so farvus zol ich mich brechen kup zei auslernen english?

Who's the "they"? All schools are teaching basic English, it's on the individual to decide what priority it has and how important it his for him.

The children/ bucherim dont prioritize off their own cognizance, rather based on the ideologies (trying to not be harsh) pushed on the students from outside (including school).

My mother's side lived in oscaloosa Iowa.

Later the younger ones travelled to Detroit for jobs and social life.

It's not merely community that people want, the NY Jews crew up with a sense of familiar life, shuls, people, family, stores, lifestyle.

My mother's father lived in oscaloosa when he was orphaned, his mother etc was in Detroit.

He ended up living in Chicago where my mother was born and raised.

Why do people invest in graphics for a website, or hire an interior designer for their storefront? Does is make the merchandise better? I think the same applies to proper spelling.

I still chuckle every time I see people who can barely spell or write a coherent sentence posing as “branding experts” on LinkedIn.

+1 they still have the best fresh meat in Jerusalem and I didn't think much about their misspelled English when I ate it.

What makes them the best for you? I don't see how they have a edge in any area. Even if you are looking at Eida exclusively, Pickadeli is better.

I'm not in Jerusalem these days I was only there till covid but I meant best as in eida meat that I tried I actually never tried pickadeli but when I'm back in Israel maybe I'll check it out iyh.

Tampa makes sense though. The Tampa bay area is fairly established city.

@Dan may not love the climate but it's solid. Realistic drive to Miami, short drive to Orlando. Less realistic but feasible drive to Atlanta and Jacksonville.

And as mentioned, easy access to direct flights to most city's.
