You said people should have to take political responsibility by making their vote public. The Constitution explicitly says they do not have to (unless 20% of the vote forces them to).

You are quoting a clause in the constitution whose purpose is political accountability, and which makes it essentially impossible for any controversial vote to be secret.

Reassuring to know it wasn't just me who couldn't understand what Castor was trying to say.  So it seems that Schoen was supposed to lead the defense, but as he heard that "the House managers' presentation was well done", he realized he had to edit his presentation, and so Castor was sent in to adlib for the first hour.

But what does it mean?  They had expected the Democrats to do a crappy job, and so hadn't prepared adequately?  Or were they surprised at the video, and felt they needed to put together some visual effects themselves?  Or had Raskin shot through Schoen's argument before he even had a chance to make it?  Strange.

Negoose is doing a great job, but I was especially taken by how Raskin, who was reading off papers, sounded. He was really smooth and poised, not usually the case when someone is reading of papers.

Agreed, incredible. He's a professor of constitutional law, and so yesterday's presentation was something he had talked about often.
