I think that Bongino is a bad choice to take over Limbaugh. My perception of Bongino is that he is a shtickmacher, more focused on the optics then the truth of the message. Limbaugh wasn't popular because of the shtick. You need to get someone entertaining, but first and foremost, an honest conservative.
Well spoken

I'm about to say an opinion for which I'm not qualified, as I've only really heard Bongino through his snippets on Fox News, but not knowing about something

Agree completely. I can't stand listening to those types.

Problem is, the few principles, honest conservatives already have their own show, (prager, levin) or they aren't well known enough.

Why wouldn’t they want his slot?

I'm sure their are plenty of no-names who are really good, and the radio people probably know. Guys like the young Mike Pence (though I have no idea how entertaining he was,) who I assume was not well-known on a national level before he went into politics. I would think they would have a rotating system of guests until they identify which one gets the most listeners. Similar to what Fox seems to be doing now with their "Primetime" show.

I think Ben Shapiro would be much better than Dan Bongino, but even Shapiro sometimes gets caught up in his Shtick, and probably does not appeal to as wide an audience as Limbaugh did because of his fast-pace style.

Mark Steyn also seems like a better choice to me.

There are a lot of no names that are excellent, but the syndicate (is that what it's called)? doesn't want to start from scratch. Many people won't tune in without name recognition.

He's not prime time material anyway. Just not the right style. You need to have really wide appeal

Agreed. He’s filled in for the great Rush many times. Although there is no replacement for the man with the nicotine stained fingers behind the golden microphone.

well if bongino is now recovering from  cancer himself maybe he DOES have nicotine stained fingers...  :o
anyways my choice wud be mark steyn or mark levin if he’d just cool it a bit- don’t want to hear a guy yelling at me in the middle of the day. But he’s no shtickmacher imo
nothings impossible- the word itself says Im possible

Levin is always angry & bitter. Rush knew how to chill & have a good time. I can’t think of any good replacement. Whenever there were guest hosts filling in I'd be done before the first break.

Nobody will be Rush. The only question is who is second best.
