No, don't think so...because when it didn't work with one GV account, I tried with another, and then it gave me a new message, informing me that I was switching it over from another account (which it hadn't said before).
Which also means, to me at least, that it accepted the linking of the phone to the account, the only issue was issuing the number. Google's forums seem to list a similar issue, saying that there's no workaround...but I wonder what the root cause of the problem is, and if there is anything I can do about it.
