Google Voice may save a number as a home number, and in that mode it will not allow you to forward messages. In order to change that there's an option in legacy site.

Is it possible to port number from Sprint to gv and still keep the plan with a new number

New plans are $60 ask them how much to add a line on your plan.

For example I was on the free for a year plan. I wanted my number in google voice so I ported it out but I still wanted the free plan so before I ported I added a line at the same price of free. Effectively keeping my plan open. Cant guarantee it's possible for you.

  • On the legacy web page, click the gear icon in the upper right corner, then click Settings.

Hi,
I'm having trouble setting up google voice to make outgoing calls not through the internet. (I'm trying to get free calling to Canada) Even when i set making and receiving calls using carrier only it still doesn't work.

Are you getting an error? Is phone not calling? Please specify the problem.

It only let's me call with an internet connection even though I switched the making and receiving calls option to use carrier only.
When i try calling through he app it just says please wait.

Google voice needs a drop of internet to initiate the call, but once your connected it won't be using data

It doesn't have the option anymore of accessing your account by dialing your gv number and calling from there? (Like a calling card)

You can call your Google voice number and and put in your pin, I haven't tried in years so YMMV.
