Google Voice may save a number as a home number, and in that mode it will not allow you to forward messages. In order to change that there's an option in legacy site.

Why not just change your VZW VM number to GV?

BC I have two GV accounts, and my cell phone number is listed as an office phone on both GV lines -- landlines can be shared across two GV accounts, but cell phones can't.  One of my GV lines is a local area code, the other in another state where my company is located

I've been unable to place any calls on my phone, using Google Voice.
Every time I try to place a call I get a message "we could not complete your call, please try again!"

Anyone knows what may be causing this?

I tried "force stop," didn't help.

I thought maybe the problem is with my phone, so I made the call from Google.com/Voice on my PC, and it also didn't go through.

Anyone encounter this before?   Any solutions?

When you call GV does the VM pick up?  If it does, can you make an outgoing call from there?

As of the last time I looked into it (a few months ago), no.

Yes, yes.
So it is not a GV problem, it is a internet / ports problem.  I may have missed it upthread, but how are you using your GV?

Via the official GV app.

How can it be an internet problem, if it's not limited to one single WiFi connection?

I misread your OP.  I did not realize you are using an app.  This is an obvious step, but did you try removing and reinstalling the app?

I'm trying to set up a Google Voice in Lakewood NJ so that I should be able to make free long distance (yes I know it might only last for another few months). Well Google Voice has no local numbers available for Lakewood NJ (848 or 732) any ideas how to get one.

Use a different area code?

Port from an existing number you have (cell, home, etc.)?

They have you just have to know what number to look for, I can't help you with that.

I know what # I need either an 848 or 732 #, but none of them are available. I can't get another area code, since then I will be charged long distance every time I use it.

What decides if its long distance is actually the first 6 digits, so in lakewood not every 732 number will be local.

I set up a google voice number a while ago (actually, ported in a number) and now i'm having trouble accessing the voice mail.

The problem is, I have no idea what the email address is that's associated with it  :-\

Is there any way to figure that out?

https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/account/recovery
Thanx, but didn't help

After entering the gv number, it sent an email to the email address associated with the number with recovery information.

My issue is that I dont know what that address is!

You made a new email? Thats why I have all my emails either forwarding to each other, or in thunderbird so I can check them all at once.

Yes. It has its own dedicated email, and I have no idea what it is.
