does anyone know how many times you can pool miles together on aegean? i.e if after myself and 5+ friends have the 20,000 miles, can they all transfer their miles to me or do i have an acceptance limit?

who told you you can consolidate at all? It is almost unheard of in the FF industry.

Sorry and hope I am not repeating something. My wife has a flight planned to Israel (about 12000 points worth on Aegean). It is booked already with her Continental FF#. What do I do to change it to her FF# to the Aegean number? What is written earlier isn't clear to me- sorry! Thanks.

You change it on united.com in the reservation, however you do know that most CO/UA fares give just 50% miles on Aegean, right?

I looked it up and the fare-class that I paid seemed to be 100%. I tried the Aegean credit card route but no go since we don't live in Greece. At least the new United website has us staying as Platinum until 2013! Any other ideas with Aegean? I'd love to get 4 years of Star Alliance Gold but it looks like it will take 2 Israel trips to do it.

Class W going and Q returning. Booked using Starwood points so we would get the EQMs. When I looked it up it said 100%, but of course I may have made a mistake. BTW, Dan, do you have the latest Star Alliance baggage printout like you sent out last Summer? See attached.

why would you earn miles on an award ticket? am i missing something?

My guess is you will only get 50% for the W as everything is United now.

I don't have anything more updated than that.

It was about 125,000 points for Pesach. United is 150,000. Starwood is so great (ask Dan)- you turn in your points and they buy you a ticket. Since it is bought, you get EQMs.

Many times you can earn miles from a mileage ticket thats paid by a third party (canada's avion program....)

Same here. While I was browsing, some tix opened up, and I booked 2.5 tix at the 80k rate before it filled up while the third tik was being processed. Has to pay the 75k for the way back of the third tik.

If anyone wants to earn quick silver status, I found this on FT. $272 ai for 5800 miles, out of LGA on US:

US: LGA-CLT-PHX-TUS-PHX-PHL-LGA $272ai 4.6cpm 5893 EQMs w/ 500mi mins (low-qual MR)
Same day turns available on 3/21, 3/27, and 3/28.

At 4.6cpm, I know its far from a "quality" MR, but you can pick up 6 segs and decent chuck of EQMs.
