If it is possible, it's very difficult, but I do believe I've read reports of US "releasing" miles, and A3 then being able to take them.

One issue. I'm coming from MIA. According to GCmap, MIA-PHL-LAS-PHL-MIA is 6,379 miles leaving me a mere 88 miles short of 20k.

Also, you know those flights aren't cheap, right? For any date that's $128 for me, it's going to be $540 the cheapest for you...

Is there a way to get your A3 benefits on a United award ticket? I tried changing my FF# on my booking but it didnt save, just went right back to United.

You could actually do a DOUBLE turn 1/28-1/29 landing back in PHL 2:44pm then taking off again for LAS 3:59pm.

Total trip would be Tuesday 6pm to Thursday 6:04am
Total miles for 36hr trip = 8,706
Total cost is $255.60
(and you get a night to enjoy Vegas)

Now THAT'S a MR!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I booked two phl-las tickets that dan posted about today to earn status but can't seem to figure out if could use a3 gold benefits on a united award flight which is how I generally travel. Any one have input if the status works only on tickets purchased straight out? Or even on award flights?

decided i dont like the overnight in LAS.
only doing 1/29-1/29 PHL-LAS-PHL

also doing same on 2/5, 2/26 and 3/4
17,412 miles toward A3 *G for life.
Total cost $512 = $0.029/mile is awesome Thanks @Dan!

Can even play slots in LAS for a few mins!  8)
