is there anything higher than gold , like a platinum or 1k? i travel on UA from tlv-ewr 5-7 per year and am gold on start alliance but would like to try and get upgrades....

Well obviously if your card doesn't get charged you are not getting 3x.

I think he means that only the airline charges your card not the TA

On one of Dan's posts on A3 Gold he mentioned:

Elite Benefits:
-Star Alliance Silver gets you and your travel companions a free checked bag on Star Alliance carriers like Air Canada, United, and USAirways.
-Star Alliance Gold gets you and each of your travel companions 3 free checked bags on Air Canada, United, and USAirways.  United even allows each bag to weigh 70 pounds.


However, I haven't find any evidence that this perk is actually given to all travel companions, at least on *A airlines members' (Turkish, United, Lufthansa) websites.
Most state that the card holder gets this extra baggage allowance, and this is also written on Star Alliance website.

Anyone have witnessed otherwise and can correct me?

The TA charges the CC to his Corp.... He uses his own card to pay the actual ticket.
