I'm not getting into this discussion, but I can tell you that the average person cannot get through scientific studies and understand what's going on .

My father was a pharmacist for 30 years, when younger I'd read his pharmacy journals, sure there's lots of new drugs and stuff tried but this is generally for specific treatments.

I had chronic dry mouth post surgery, my father had received a sample of horizons I think, well It cured me!

I had terrible psoriasis for years (probably from all the wine ... No joke, once I cut down alcohol my face got better) anyways, a dermatologist friend recommended sal3, sulfur dioxide soap and boom that worked better than all the RX stuff .

But that's not a controlled scientific study, it's just random stuff that worked for me... Where it never hurt to try things.

You can challenge medical science in ways,  but ironic that the warnings of taking various medications like hydroxy are shrugged off, while they will scream at how vaccines kill.

I recommend the book "trick or treatment"

The average frum person absent a secular education should open their mind to how medical science evolved.

1. This is why we have our resident research analyst @biobook :P
2. The issue with Ivermectin and the like is that you end up with stupid anecdotes about people who took it and “were cured”. Unless you compare to no Ivermectin or to another treatment/cohort, you can’t possibly be sure the recovery was in any way aided by Ivermectin.

Fascinating review of virtually every study that's been done on Ivermectin

https://astralcodexten.substack.com/p/ivermectin-much-more-than-you-wanted

One interesting hypothesis discussed is that many of the studies showing its efficacy were done in 3rd world countries where the parasites it's made to target would otherwise be comorbidities for Covid, so in those countries it may have helped, not by beating Covid, but by beating the parasites that would otherwise make Covid more deadly. If true, it would be useless in 1st world countries where (hopefully) people don't have those parasites to begin with.

Beyond that, I'll leave the TL:DR to @biobook to hopefully enlighten us with further insights and analysis.

Post right above yours, and it isn’t every study just all of those used in one collection.

People are touting this study as proof it works. Don't know enough and didn't read it very well. Just putting it out there.

Have you bothered to read what we already know from this thread? Countries with worm infestation problems will benefit from treating COVID-19 patients (and all patients) with ivermectin because it helps de-worm people, which makes you somewhat less susceptible to serious illness. It’s not likely to help us in the US though where worms isn’t really much of a thing.

Considering an estimated 40 million Brazilians suffer from at least one variety of worm, this makes perfect sense.

PS: How much is a million Brazilian?

So basically, you're saying that better than finding a worm in your covid is finding half a worm?

But this is a prophylaxis study that suggests ivermectin prevented infection. Are you suggesting that  having worms makes someone ~78% more likely to catch COVID?

The study suggests a 44% reduction in infection rate.

No, he’s saying you only get half a COVID when you find it in your worms.

Very possible IMHO. It would be the inverse of wine drinkers getting less Covid.

Reminds me of the suggestion by I-Mask (basically antivaxxer-types who promote “alternative” treatment protocols for COVID) to gargle mouthwash twice daily to prevent COVID.

Do they gargle the mouthwash the same way the gargle stats?
