Target.com Lifetime Ban
« on: March 09, 2021, 02:40:00 AM »
I tried to place a Target pickup order and it kept cancelling on me right away, on multiple tries and multiple cards. After calling them, I was told it's due to violating their resale terms. I only made a few orders there in my life, but I had 1 or 2 for a buying group that must've caused this issue.
They said the online ban is indefinite and there is absolutely no way to appeal.

I'm wondering if anyone may have any suggestions to get my account back to normal (aside from the possibility of opening a new account with all separate info).

Perhaps try corporate or even a simple manager?

So, I opened a new Target account with a "." in the email address and order went through. I used same CC, but I first deleted it from the original account (don't know if that was necessary).

If you want to use a different cc to lessen the chances and stay safer, use paypal key

Happened to me twice. A few months later and it went away. Try small in store pickups but dont order for a month or so first

The order I was banned for was many months (maybe years) ago and I hardly ever used the account. But when I did try a pickup order, it automatically cancelled.

I actually didn't end up contacting them at all. Just opened a new account with a dot in the email address and I have no issues on that account.

Did the order ship? did you use a new credit card?

Lol yep. Didn't realize it would be as simple as adding a dot to the email and keeping all the same info.

I successfully completed a pickup order (drive up to be specific).
With regards to the cc,
I used same CC, but I first deleted it from the original account (don't know if that was necessary).

Wonder if you will be able to complete order shipped to you since they banned you from online.

Happened to me a few years ago. They still let you order for yourself, at least they did me - as in the same billing address and shipping address. After a while ive been able to ship to other addressed again as well but im not going to chance it

Opening second account, even with VPN, may work for a while, but eventually they catch on if the billing info or anything else is the same.

Almost sure I would be able to, unless they catch on and ban the new account, as @halperng mentioned.
Previously, I was not able to do a pickup order. They said only regular in store shopping.

I know that many stores don't want people to resell (unsure why). How do they catch on?  People ordering many times the same item, or using ones own affiliate link?

Most likely the shipping address getting tons of the same (sale) items.
Amazon also sometimes cancels orders to addresses of these resellers (not consistently, but sometimes they can), but they don't mess with the account, and they don't mess with orders to other addresses.
