anywhere past the green line (1967 war)
So the whole old city, city of David, yehuda/samaria, and Golan Heights are off limits?  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
I guess I can see why Fishy has gone to Svalbard 4 times before Israel.
What's the point  ::)

On yom tov the Churva shul has an amazing vasikin minyan. They sing every word of hallel out loud. Its really incredible. I think they do the same on Rosh chodesh, but dont know if they do it on Rosh chodesh Av. If you are there Rosh chodesh that is something I would research

Not true, it's the famous symbolic מקומות הקדושים in those areas.

So not into the old city at all? Malot Dafna? Ramat Shlomo?
I have a satmar cousin who lived on shmuel hanavi street and said we live on this side of the street bc the other side of the street is already across the green line.

FYI they’re the sweetest people you’ll meet . Their daughter was talking to another cousin of mine (not satmar) that once she was somewhere and she happened to look and get a glimpse of the kosel ... so not sure exactly she cud have been...

I'll let him speak for himself.
As they say, the bums in satmar have better תאוות than visiting the Kosel..

Re your question on if to rent a car, I would say very worth to have for driving anywhere outside of JLM.

They have rental cars in his size? In my days most rentals were little go carts

haha, just make sure you don't get a compact.

also you can always rent for only the days that your going out of JM. Otherwise its just a burden and can be quite cumbersome when parking around town.

Parking isn't that bad. If you're going to do day trips from Jerusalem, I'd just rent and return from TLV.

I'm not looking at this as a once in a lifetime trip, there will be others iy"h....

At this stage it seems like a trip in a lifetime. I'd say do a month in Israel
