Aaaand tickets booked (at least for the return lol): first ever family trip to Israel! Time to revive this thread.
Starting from zero is honestly an extremely weird sensation for someone who plans trips for a living, but Israel is just something I've never had to plan before. With so many people having mountains of experience on the subject here, I thought I'll sit back and benefit from others' experiences for a change .
I've gone through it all, and I think I have a pretty good framework.
Thoughts and details are welcome!
General idea, with some questions and notes below:
Wednesday:
Arrive TLV in the evening. Head to Jlem for dinner and bed.
Thursday:
Probably wake up late. Breakfast, Kosel (GEVAAAAAALD), Har Hazeisim (family and Ohr Hachaim), Kever Rochel. Seems that I have time left, see below.
Friday:
Shuk, Kikar Hashabbos, Mea Sharim, wander about, get ready for Shabbos. Kosel Friday night.
Shabbos:
Visit family, nap...
Sunday:
Head north. Hula Valley in the morning, then Amuka/Meron//Tzfas/Teveria.
Monday:
Masada, Ein Gedi, Yam Hamelech.
Tuesday:
Early morning TLV departure.
Itinerary notes:
- Thu: Any other kvarim to know about on Har Hazeisim?
- Thu: Looking into tours for Thursday. I've reached out to
@satturn and am waiting on an answer, but I specifically need something that a 12-year old girl would enjoy.
- Thu: Order of things will probably change to accomodate tour timing.
- Sha: Anything else to do on Shabbos? What about Motzei Shabbos?
- Sun: Amuka/Meron//Tzfas/Teveria: obviously impossible to do in one day (or even a week I'm guessing). What are the area highlights that CAN be done in a day?
- Mon: Is that order correct? Or should I save one particular spot for sunset. We're not going to hike up Masada.
General notes:- I'll most likely stay in an apartment in Jlem throughout. No sense is switching places on such a short trip.
- I think I can get away with not having a car until after Shabbos, no?
- Blind Museum has no availability during my stay at all unfortunately.
So.... what do you say?
