...but the nurses were collecting unemployment and getting stimulus checks. Sorry I can't keep this all straight.
Bottom line, just get vaccinated and wine all you want. I will even throw in some cheese and crackers.

No question that if we give everyone enough wine they will all be happy. They will even forget about the blankets.

Probably belongs in another thread but since it is a rhetorical question I will just leave it here.
Unemployment checks - reason we don't have workers
Stimulus checks - reason we don't have workers
Mandates - reason we don't have nurses
Mandates - reason kids can't get blankets
What is odd is no mention of the most outrageous of them all. The insane child tax credit. Why is that not mentioned here as a reason for these problems?

In short, the ECTC doesn’t incentivize unemployment.

Sure, they're typically based in the airline's hubs.
UA has hubs in places like EWR, DEN, IAD, LAX, ORD, and SFO.
WN has hubs in places like ATL, DAL, MCO, and PHX.

A) Why is it "insane"?
B) Explain the connection logically so we can see how getting $1000 more for a child (regardless of employment status) would enable/motivate someone to quit their job

It's not insane, but neither is unemployment. And as we are seeing from the unemployment numbers, there's no surge to employment now that the covid unemployment party is over. It just means there's more money being given to ppl for free, which means less of an incentive to work (especially if it means you will then not qualify for benefits).
