I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Next we should allow them to not cover preexisting conditions.
Is stupidity a preexisting condition?

Why should we cherry pick who can be denied coverage?

Is stupidity a preexisting condition?

This is not a road I would imagine anyone wants to go down. Does one lose dental insurance if they don't floss or skip a 6-month checkup? Does an obese patient have to disclose their eating and exercise habits before getting covered? Should a child who is 2 months late for a well-visit and contracts measles before getting vaccinated not get covered? My wife tested positive for covid on the very day she was scheduled to get vaxxed. Had she G-d forbid required hospitalization, should she have been denied coverage?

So the slippery slope argument; pretty much sums up this thread (this board?) :)

As for your wife's scenario, there could be provisions and balances written into the implementation of this to address it.

(I'm not sure if I actually agree with it, just playing devil's advocate right now.)

It's not a slippery slope, I'm showing how that policy is at the bottom of the hill already.

My wife had it on her own "schedule", she didn't have an appointment for a walk in shot.

The first few concerns are slippery slope.

Maybe your wife's scenario should be covered by this then. It would light some urgency under everyone; give a 30-45 day window to get vaccinated, anyone unvaccinated after will have to pay out of pocket.

It's not slippery slope, which is getting progressively worse, it's the same level.

Not to mention that these mandates only factor one form of immunization, even when other forms are better, or risk factor, such as age which makes a huge difference with covid.

This "everyone who won't vax is stupid" is quite a surprising blanket stance coming from you.

IDK about stupidity per-se, but there are lots of people out there whose anti-vax positions appear to come from a place of ignorance. One can arguably legitimately characterize their resistance to consider the vaccine as stupidity.

You omitted the part of my comment which stated prefectly rational reasons many have for not wanting to take on the risks of vaccination.

And even in your defense of the everyone is stupid line, you qualify it with "lots".

"Lots" is correct.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

And? How does that answer or contradict my post(s)?

That was a quip about the comparison to preexisting conditions. Obviously not everyone who isn't vaccinated is because of stupidity reasons; where we disagree is that I believe that most of the unvaccinated are because of stupidity, and you're more concerned with the unstupid people. I feel that it's worth the tradeoff and that it's not a slippery slope to real preexisting conditions.

Let's say they would build that into this: you need to get your titers checked every 6 months, would you agree with the approach?

(That would be more akin to the dental scenario you're concerned about.)

Maybe car insurance shouldn't cover when you're at fault.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Another slippery slope argument? Let's stay focused on this specific pandemic, not some possible future concern.

Your mind is running wild. How about your medical is not covered if you are not wearing your seatbelt?
Let's have examples that make a little sense at least.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half
