This is not a road I would imagine anyone wants to go down. Does one lose dental insurance if they don't floss or skip a 6-month checkup? Does an obese patient have to disclose their eating and exercise habits before getting covered? Should a child who is 2 months late for a well-visit and contracts measles before getting vaccinated not get covered? My wife tested positive for covid on the very day she was scheduled to get vaxxed. Had she G-d forbid required hospitalization, should she have been denied coverage?
So the slippery slope argument; pretty much sums up this thread (this board?)
As for your wife's scenario, there could be provisions and balances written into the implementation of this to address it.
(I'm not sure if I actually agree with it, just playing devil's advocate right now.)
