Huge fan of the Hot Logic Mini - used it for many years (way back in the office days :) ). Brought homemade (refrigerated or frozen) food in a plastic container, stuck in the warmer in the AM, piping hot at lunch time.

What equipment do you have, if any? Toaster oven? Microwave?

Sure :)
1) it's a much better shape for a meal container that you can eat directly out of such as this, which can fit multiple items e.g a piece of chicken, a side dish, and vegetables. So you can prep a whole week's worth of meals and leave in your freezer/fridge and just pop it into the warmer when you get to work.
2) it's a lower temp than a crockpot so it won't burn your food. A crockpot is designed to cook food, this is designed to warm food.
3) much more portable than a crockpot, so if someone is moving around a lot (e.g. a traveling consultant) it's easy to put in your briefcase.

I'm boring, so I mostly had chicken with vegetables and a side. But you can experiment :)

The disadvantage of a warmer (obviously) is that crispy food loses its crisp because of the steam. So don't warm up french fries in there, unless you like poutine :)

Does it make your office smell like whatever you're heating up?

Nope. Doesn't smell till you open the container.

I would usually bring leftovers to work.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half
