I doubt you'd get more than 20% of this forum to agree to that statement.
It's illuminating to see how hypocritical some of the freedom champions on this forum are (like the guy who claimed porn isn't free speech)... and it's not about government vs 'private' institutions, they claim the 'principle' of freedom of speech applies to private enterprises like Twitter as well.
Me, I believe in cancel culture & censorship. Both by Twitter and by Rabbinic leaders. I hope this KK works and makes the world a better place.
People are upset that Twitter plays both sides of the fence: they absolve themselves of responsibility for content posted on their site, being as they are a platform and not a publisher, but then they censor content which does not fit their political narrative, thereby effectively condoning content which was not censored. It's the hiding behind Article 230 which upsets people, not the concept of a private publisher only publishing content which they agree with. Nobody says free speech obligates me to say anything I don't believe in.
I don't believe pornography should be outlawed either. I just believe there should be fair and clear warning to users as to the nature of content contained within. Once notice is given, an adult of age to be making informed consent decisions can make a choice as to whether they want to use such content.
