A story I think you will appreciate.
(Someone will have to chime in with the names)
2 Chassidim were sitting together discussing chassidus.
One turned to the other and asked him "what is Atzmus?"
The other told him he can't answer that.
But the first one wouldn't let up, and kept harassing him for an answer.
Finally the second chossid starting responding "Atzmus is", and as soon as he said that, the other smacked him across the face and told him "as soon as you say "Atzmus is", you aren't talking about Atzmus anymore".
The story happened with Zalman Moshe Yitzchaki, who was known more as an עובד, and he was asking/Farbrengen with Moshe Gurary who was know as a great משכיל.

It wasn't easy for him, he practiced for a long time
obviously, for his missionary activities...  :)

Awesome, thanks.

What's a typical CH boy's lumudei kodesh curriculum like? Let's say bar mitzvah age. What subjects/limudim are taught?
It OT, it's just called curriculum :P
Lumudei chol ain't a thing.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

100%

At OT anything that smells like limudei chol is chazzer tried, their mission is חינוך על טהרת הקודש

ETA: to clarify, OP asked about CH in general and title is about Lubavitchers in general. It should be clarified that other Chabad achools in and out of CH have various standards for Limudei Chol, some of which are pretty high. Interesting it’s coming up now because I just found out a relative of mine teaches limudei chol at a CH school.

You’re just hoping for local DOs with SF. Wishful thinking, cough up the big bucks and pursue some Kosher Horizons.

I’m not going there because I’m not making endorsements of any schools/communities. Maybe they’re not high by your standards, but they’re certainly high by OT’s non-existent standards.

OT has the highest standard of excluding limudei chol. Though they might be outdone by Ohr Menachem and Ohel Yosef Yitzchok.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

My knowledge is admittedly 20 years old, but at that point in time, I don't think any Chabad mesivtas had even half decent limudei chol.
Curious if that has changed at all.

Speaking about chabad mesivta's general studies programs, here's a book from the view of a teacher who taught in yoec mesivta for three years, it's a great read.

That is an extremely dangerous approach. Do you really think you are better versed in נגלה דתורה and/or פנימיות התורה than the Lubavitcher Rebbe?
Find out what reb golf greenglas answered reb reuven Margolis when he said something like that (the reply was reviewed by the Rebbe)

sounds about right
about a year or so later (9th grade) is when transition from elementary to 'yeshiva' seder/curriculum takes place
