who's enforcing?
What we do have now what we haven't had for centuries is enough יד תקיפה (not power, but freedom of speech) to get away with sharing the ideas with them (influence but not enforce)
You're missing my point. I was referring to the Rambam he mentioned, that only applies to כשיד ישראל תקיפה עליהן, then it becomes our obligation and we MUST enforce, regardless of whether its beneficial or detrimental for us. You're talking of influence? Yonah had more influence on the אנשי נינוה than we can ever have, as proven by the end result, yet he was still refraining from going there to be מחזיר בתשובה for that very reason. Of course since he was violating a clear directive from Hashem, although it stemmed by his great מסירות נפש for the well-being of klal yisrael, he was punished and forced to fulfill Hashem's directive regardless.
Did you take a look at the Yaaros dvash I quoted above? As long as WE are not obligated to influence, despite the amount of influential tools we may have, why should be want to do that if it might be detrimental for us.
